Rather than offering a competitive platform with it own features to make it appealing and convenient to use I instead being strongarmed into using it in a heavily incomplete and threadbare form because they are paying off publishers to get temporary exclusivity on their platform. I dont know enough about the “spyware” claims to make a justifiable opinion on it other than it was shown that it was accessing steam files without alerting the PC owner about it. Valve is apparently investigating the claims.

Ehhhh, I believe it was rooting around in steam files regarding friends and some game information without either alerting the user or asking permission. Its suspicious but when confronted they replied that it was intended to help move your friends from steam over to the epic launcher, which sounds like cookie cutter for “oops we got caught”.
